Situated opposite Whitstable Harbour, The Oyster Bed is the ideal sanctuary
to explore the delights of the Easy Kent coast and surrounding
towns.
The Oyster Bed offers homely, clean, comfortable surroundings
with a relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Whitstable, famous
world-wide for its "Native Oysters", the world's
first passenger railway and the invention of the diving bell.
Just a stone's throw from the harbour, the yacht club and
tranquil beaches beyond, the bed and breakfast is also just
yards away from Harbour street, bustling with galleries and
small specialist shops.
Your stay will be complimented with a traditional English
breakfast served in the dining room or at the large kitchen
table should you prefer a more informal start to the day.
In the garden is a welcoming hot tub bubbling away for your
enjoyment and a range of bicycles for guests use.
With ample bars and restaurants within the immediate vicinity,
it's unlikely you'll want to stay in. If you do, there's always
the welcoming lounge to relax in.
Also within easy walking distance is the swimming pool, Ten-pin
bowling alley, Whitstable castle, Indoor bowls, Bowling green,
Whitstable water ski club and "The Street", a natural
shingle bar to the east of the harbour, that runs out to sea
for a distance of about half a mile.
There is a pay and display car park opposite with ample parking,
along with off-street parking in surrounding streets.
As well as the quaint shops and boutiques Whitstable has
to offer, there's a local art & craft market in the harbour
at weekends, the local fish market, a weekly farmers market,
and general market on Thursdays.
